Iron filings generally exist while trimming the metal stamping dies for automotive stamping parts, especially around the waste punch of the lower die. Iron filings not only seriously affect product quality and cleanliness of die appearance, but also reduce production efficiency. The analysis shows that this is not perpendicular to the trimming edge, the work piece and the die surface do not conform to the shape, the secondary shearing of the vertical edge trimming, the cutting edge gap is unreasonable, the cutting edge finish is poor, the waste punch is cut twice, the cutting edge Insufficient hardness, too deep cutting edge, unreasonable die process design, etc. The controls for this are:
- Iron filings at the waste punch:
The iron filings at the waste punch are mainly caused by the mold process.
The measures to be taken are: change the shape of the first 10mm of the edge trimming waste of the upper die to make a breakthrough edge shape, and mill the waste edge of the lower die.
2. Plates are out of shape and edge clearance is unreasonable
The measures to be taken for irregular shape of the plate and unreasonable edge clearance are to use OP10 drawing plate buckle to study the profile of each part of the trimming die, and at the same time repair the upper and lower edge clearances and adjust the cutting depth.
3. Vertical edge trimming
When trimming the vertical edge, in order to improve the quality of the section and the life of the cutting edge, the following three measures can be taken:
(1) The rounded corner of the trimmed upper edge should be 3mm larger than the rounded corner of the trimmed part, so as to ensure that when the upper and lower dies are completely closed, the trimmed edge cuts into 1-3mm and transitions slowly.
(2) The vertical edge of the trimming edge of the upper die and the vertical edge of the trimming part form an angle of 10°.
(3) Install guide blocks as much as possible to eliminate the lateral force on the cutting edge.
